While browsing through Anthropologie last week (where I bought this cute bowl to house my jewelry at the end of the day) I found these classic novels that have been reprinted and bound with embossed canvas. The colors are fantastic, the deisngs are adorable, and I think they'd look great as a set on a bookshelf, don't you? You can buy them here.

Make Me Blush
I've recently come to terms with the fact that I'm just not a high heel kind of gal. From time to time, sure, but not on an everday basis. So- I now need to start encorporating more fashionable flats into my life and I thought I'd start out by looking for some fresh Springy oxfords. While on the hunt I noticed the huge blush tone trend happening and fell in love with all of these.

Interior Inspiration- Kelly Wearstler
Today I'm hoping on a plane to sunny Santa Monica where we'll be shooting our July/August cover and a few other stories in the hills of Malibu (fingers crossed, no rain!). While we're there we have the pleasure of staying at one of my fave hotels, The Viceroy. Designed by Kelly Wearstler, it has bold color accents, collages of plates and mirrors (love), and quirky accessories. It's playful yet sophisticated and classy. She's also the writer of one of my daily blog reads My Vibe My Life....
Let me just say, I love staying here. Maybe it's because we've stayed in hotels that are all business and no fun and this place is the total opposite. It's home away from home PLUS they have amazing free shampoo/conditioner/body lotion. Who wouldn't love that?!

ipad case or cute clutch...you decide!
We're launching an iPad edition of Fitness magazine (available on iTunes) and it's been quite a process, so, although I do not own one, they're certainly a part of my life! If/when I buy one for myself, I'd love to keep it safe in one of this awesome iPad cases!
Do you have a favorite?
4. Asos $36

CC SKYE
One of my favorite punk rock jewelry designers is CC SKYE. I met with the PR girl last week and was blown away by the sheer awesomeness of her new collection. Some could easily double as a weapon on the streets of NY (see pointy stud rings!)!

The way to my heart...
Not only did we have a ton of fun in VT over the weekend, we ate a ton of great food. Here were some of my fave dishes, I apologize for the crappy lighting...I'm start with dessert, because sometimes I'd rather have that for dinner. Yes, I've actually eaten a brownie sundae, instead of a main course.... Not my proudest moment.
Warm apples in a brown sugar maple sauce with raisins topped with sweet granola/crumbs + ice cream-love |
chocolate bread pudding and vanilla ice cream- delish |
brett's dessert cheese plate (weirdo, who doesn't want sweets!) |
bourbon glazed pheasant with wild rice |
beyond amazing, lamb with fried polenta... the best i've ever eaten, and wish i was a good enough cook to make it myself |
Stowe-Away Weekend
As you know we were in Stowe, VT this weekend gettin' our ski, spa, wine and dine on with the awesome people of Columbia Sportswear. We stayed at Stowe Mountain Lodge, the nicest resort on the mountain if you ask me- I highly recommend it. While the weekend was far from sunny, which totally put a damper on getting "pretty" pictures, it was still beautiful in my eyes. On Mt. Mansfield in Stowe, VT |
Mt. Mansfield in the background. Me attempting to look like a decent skier |
Carbon fibers run throughout the coat, even down to your wrists keeping your pulse toasty which then warms your blood as it circulates through your hand and in turn, through the rest of your body. Pretty snazzy huh? I'll be posting some of the amazing food we had at the resorts fab resto The Cliff House (sitting on top of the mountain) while we're there tomorrow! |

And We're Off...
Today my boyfriend and I are off to Stowe, Vermont for a fun filled weekend sponsored by Columbia Sportswear! We'll spend time meeting other editors, skiing, snowboarding, hitting the spa and taking in the beautiful scenery.
I'll be back on Monday with some beautiful pictures!

Splurge vs. Steal
These wedges are the perfect shoe to go with almost any warm weather outfit. All I want to know is HOW a company gets away with ripping off someone else's design, almost exactly?! What happened to being creative people!

Color Me Pretty
Hello Color! If there was ever a time I wished it was warmer out I think it's right about now. How AMAZING are these outfits from SHOPBOP? I went on their website earlier looking for dresses but was completely stopped in my tracks when I saw this slideshow on their homepage.
I do not usually call attention to myself with bold color selections for my personal wardrobe, but I would wear any of these in a second. Wouldn't you?!
Heartloom Fall 2011
Last week I was invited to get a sneak peak at Heartloom's Fall 2011 collection. I snapped pics of a few of my favorite pieces. The theme was boho, but not sloppy, it was tailored and wearable! I would totally trade my wardrobe for this collection- absolutely loved everything.

DIY Desk
I've had this antique desk for years. When I took it off of a family members hands it was a dark cherry wood, I then painted it tan and did some faux finishing on it, recently I repainted it white and sanded it down to look a bit worn in and really worked on. I love it! Now my goal is to find a cute chair, add some books, a small light and pictures above (for now I have a corkboard propped on it, but it's too big and has to go back to Home Goods)... any suggestions? xo
Chan Luu teamed up with Rebecca Taylor to create an exclusive line of scarves for Spring/Summer 2011. Both are on my list of favorite designers, I'm thrilled!
Plus, I wear a scarf almost every day in the fall, winter, and spring so needless to say, I cannot wait to wear one of these easy breezy styles once the weather gets just a tad warmer.

Friday Favorites
It has been a VERY busy day!! Since I'm still at work at 7:00 on a Friday night I decided to share some of my favorite things about the place I spend so much of my time, my desk. |
Keep calm + carry on, something I tell myself often during busy weeks! |
i have necklaces hanging all over my cube, this is my favorite |
style inspiration from the new J.Crew catalog + my daily mantra |
My trusty jar of Dove chocolates for the nagging 3:00 sweet tooth |
I met with the PR girls for Shasha Rhett watches this week, SO CUTE, and they were kind enough to gift me one! Love the brown Ostrich leather! |
Photography Magic
While surfing the internet for fun fashion photos I stumbled upon some of Tim Walker's work. It makes me wish all fashion spreads looked like this. Every picture he takes is full of imagination, beauty, color, and whimsy... lets just say they're stunning. Reminds me of Alice in Wonderland every time. In an interview someone asked what he gets out of photography, his response:
"There's no better feeling in the world, for me, than getting a good photograph. When everything comes together and you look through the viewfinder and there's a window to something magical. You haven't seen it before...you see something you haven't yet caught...it's such a thrill..."
It's refreshing to hear someone so enthusiastic about their work. His most recent visions are reflected in the 2011 campaigns for Mulberry and Korean fashion brand O'2nd, cannot wait to see what he pulls out of his hat next.
