Charitable Find

I'm a huge fan of Satya jewelry.  Kristen Bell has teamed up with them to create a necklace for the charity Invisible Children. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to help educate the youth of Northern Uganda, an area of east Africa that has been ravaged by war.

The necklace is a 24k gold vermeil tree of life with a small gemstone charm symbolizing peace and education. It's being sold for $38 ($45 with shipping) and can be purchased at www.satyajewelry.com. Other stars sporting this piece include Courtney Cox-Arquette, Anne Hathaway, and Uma Thurman.  You can buy it here .

to do: home office

now that i've gotten the pictures of perfection out of the way, it's back to reality. we've lived in this apartment since may and have a whole 2nd bedroom that serves no purpose. well, no purpose aside from housing the explosion of clothes from getting ready for work in the morning- my closets are located in there. so i've decided to turn that room into our home office. i plan on getting a crisp white desk, pretty accessories and organization tools like a corkboard, calendar, file holder, and magazine racks...

i'm totally loving these as inspiration...

pieces of paradise

i'm home from my work trip to puerto rico just in time to experience some lovely ny weather, i.e. another snow storm. in any case, we had such a great time (although it was ALOT of work) and it was bittersweet packing up to go home. bitter because we were leaving perfect weather and palm trees, but sweet because i needed some real food. we shot on an amazing little island off the coast of fajardo, PR starting at 7am and ended at 6:30pm everyday, followed by dinner witht the crew. had a ton of laughs, probably because we were all delirious by the time we were done working!!

thought i would share some pictures of paradise with you. =)

bejeweled: vanessa mooney

if you dont know her, you should.  her designs are a mix of boho chic and rock n roll. she uses colorful ethnic beads, metal daggers, chains, and random buddha charms (which i love)....plus, she's got some of the best wrap bracelets to make the perfect layered look ...

music love: she & him

one of my favorite bands is she & him. an RV driver we work with in malibu played their first cd every morning on the way to our shoot location.  i fell in love-i must've said it enough because he eventually just gave me the cd.  now, every time i listen to it i think of driving along the ocean in cali...

zooey deschanel has the most amazing, quirky, vintage sound... check our the new music video below.

Dont Look Back...

Make me tan...

The best part about my job is that it allows me to travel for photo shoots. We go to amazing destinations (last month it was snowy Mammoth, CA staying in cabins tucked on a mountainside, now we're going to a luxurious resort in Puerto Rico complete with golf course, water slides, casino and private island). I'll be there until Wednesday, my hunnie is meeting me there as well, for some work (and fun) in the sun. Be back with great pictures and hopefully a tan!!

Stack em Up

It's no secret that I love stackable rings. My goal is to start a collection of thin bands with a little bling so that one day I'll have a bunch to choose from. I asked my lovely boyfriend for one for Christmas but he ran with the "stackable" part and not so much the "sparkle" aspect of the request. Nonetheless, the effort and thoughtfulness were there. Plus I can't expect him to pay an astronomical amount of money for one ring- unless it's, ahem, a more meaningful one.

And so, the hunt for the perfect thin, shimmering ring continues...

Clearly I can't afford some of these, but a girl can dream...

Carry it All

I stuff an abnormal amount of things into my poor little handbag every day. Wallet, make-up bag, giant water bottle, 2 cell phones (yes 2), pens, energy bars, and a camera. You name it and I probably have it in my bag. I saw this AMAZING utilitarian type bag from Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent on shopbop.com and fell in love. It looks like the kind of bag that can handle all of the things I toss into it and yet still manage to keep it organized with its neat compartments.

Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent, Caine Army tote - $305

some other favorites I stumbled upon with lots of pockets.....

Another one of my favorite designers is Olivia Harris, Cargo bag - $495

Topshop Leather Stud Base bag - $170

listomania

Truth be told, I LIVE off of lists. Next to my computer there is always something like 10 post-it notes, or a giant "to do" list neatly written on a piece of paper. I'd love to get one of these cute notebooks to keep my desk looking neat in the midst of insanity... or just to stack on a bookshelf because they're so awesome.
jayson home & garden $11

iomoi $10

jayson home + garden $38-65

amazon.com $9
clearly this should be my life motto

lifeless bedroom seeks personality

Our bedroom has been lacking pazazz for quite some time now, white walls, white bedding etc...a blank slate. So, about a month ago I decided it was time to give it some TLC.  We picked out an amazing gray velvet damask fabric (@Mood fabrics in NY) and made our own headboard. It's literally the only pretty thing in the room, here's my shopping list to bring the rest of the place to life.

crystal lamp

fun  mix n match pillows

i'm so picky about wall art it will probably be the last thing i find....

bloglovin.

I've been obsessed with blogs for quite some time. I finally dug up the courage and time to create my own, throw my thoughts out there into blog land, and hope they're liked by all =) ... or at least some.

express yourself

i dont know when it started or why, but i love stationery. i have a box full of it and buy new designs for no specific reason. i went shopping yesterday and found myself in the home good/stationery section more than the clothing aisles and picked up 3 new sets to add to my collection (pictures to come soon)... in the meantime, check out some of my favorite design shops...
